Tentang krismas

Meri krismas everyone!!
Hmmm.. We had a very quiet chrissy., lepak kat umah layan tv.. JJ is not feeling well so he basically slept thruout the day. All the travelling, running around in bdo, stranded at the airport for 7 hours waiting for our connecting flight, rain rain rain in trg, hot & sunny in kedah must have gotten into him. Poor thing..

He woke up just before asar and said "i dont even know what christmas feels like anymore".. Aiyooo... Sedihnya.... I know that he is homesick. Family jauh. Thanks to fb dpt gak kami berutus ucapan dgn mereka disana. Nak skype depa sume pi holiday..

Tahun ni dah tahun ketiga kami berkrismas tanpa keluarga JJ. First year 2010 i cant remember what we did, last year 2011 kami balik trg tp kalut2 dgn arwah kakak ipar yg sedang tenat who finally succumbed to her sickness and passed away on 28/12 (al fatihah).. Tahun ni 2012, JJ tak sihat pulak. Kami mmg plan nak balik sana for xmas this year, tp aunty V pi berjalan la pulak time holiday n kami pun baru je blk dari bdo.. Next year la pulak try to go back for xmas.

Xmas kat sana lebih kurang mcm raya kita jugak. First time xmas bersama family JJ was in 2007, a quiet lunch with the family. Aunty N dtg dari sydney satu keluarga and on boxing day i went on my annual shopping spree with jenny. 2008 sangat meriah sbb kakak H dan anak2 menakan mai dari Auckland, abang T n family dtg dari Sydney bersama2 aunty N n family jugak. Mcm nak runtuh rumah aunty V ramai2 serbu. We had a wonderful new year celebration, JJ order lamb sekoq dari halal butcher kami n we had lamb on the spit.. Mmg maveles.. Tahun 2009 i kena kerja on xmas day so lps kerja baru pi umah aunty V. Very quiet xmas sbb kami2 je yg ada... Bila dah duk Msia, tak berkrismas dah kami sbb berdua (plus fatty n string bean) aje..

Even hari raya activity seems weird for JJ, dia dah biasa xmas cuma mkn2 dgn immediate family, tukaq2 hadiah pahtu lepak tgk tv ke, pi pantai ke.. 1st time eid kat sini dia pelik sbb kena pi ziarah umah org semua.. Tp dia eksaited dpt rasa mcm2 makanan yg dia xpenah tgk. By the 3rd house dia dah kenyang sbb makan kaw2 dkt the first 2 houses tadi.. Hahahah...

Interesting sebenaqnya kawin campoq ni, byk benda kita boleh belajar.. Tapi dugaan dia pun banyak la jugak.. I suppose all marriages are like that kan? Have to try and tolerate with each other..

Mak aih.. Tersasar sungguh citer i mlm nih.. Sebelum i merapu dgn lebih lanjut.. Here's fatty n string bean wishing everybody a wonderful christmas and a joyful new year!!

Tentang terbang - part 2

Assalamualaikum....
Balik berholiday dgn airasiamang yg mmg mcm hakktuiihh..
Bersambung pd kesah tentang terbang itu ari., di pendekkan cerita i ended up paying the extra rm300 bcos we have to make that flight and no other airlines fly out of pen to make our connecting flight. Yg adonya emas tp seat yg tinggal hanyalah kelas perniagaan.. With a fare that could have bought us tickets to OOL or SYD. So dgn terkulat2nya i bayo le jugak sbb kata aweks kaunter tu kalau i xbayo i xdpt terbang balik dr kul-pen.

So peringatan buat diri sendrik n uols yg berkira2 nak terbang dgn airasiamang nin, kalu airasiamang yg reschedule your flight, uols jgn nak memandai2 (mcm i) pi tukaq/adjust your connecting flights. Padahnya mrk akan menganggap yg uolss yg decide to change your plans thus resulting in you having to pay fare difference together with admin fee (wth for?) of about rm140 for rescheduling your flights. I DID NOT know this. I was told by awek kaunter yg kalau airasiamang yg buat changes, u can have your connecting flights changed for free provided that u VISIT their sales counters. Ado ke mention kat dlm website? NAN HADO!! Nombor telpon pun xdok.. Apatah lagi address service center serata negara. Mmg mcm haktuihhh..

So dah settle segala, we had to leave home at 5am as our limo driver said that he'll pick us up at 5.30am to catch our 8.30am flight. Reason? Takut berebut dgn normal office commuters. We arrived in penang international at 6.15am punyela ramai umat manusia.. Theyols tu tido airprt gamaknya. Anyway the flight to kul was on time so its all good. TApi... Ingat tak asal2nya flight ke bdo is at 3pm tp diawalkan ke jam 1pm kan? Cer teka kul bape kitorg berlepas? Cer teka? Cer teka? Macam haktuihh lg sekali sbb we took off at 2.45pm!! Dkt 2 jam delay ok!! JJ dah hangen sbb we have to endure rescheduling our flights, parting with 300 that i could use to buy duty free chocolates, have to leave home at 5 in the morning, messing our pick up booking in bdo etc etc etc.. For what? To find out that we're leaving at around about the same time as we were supposed to travel in the first place! Bloody hell..

If only there's any other airlines that flies direct to bdo from msia, takde de haku nak support airasiamang lagi.. Tp sbb ini je jln yg paling convenient to us.. We have to.., next time kita naik jet ski je ke bdo.., xpayah nak kusutkan kepala dgn changes to the fligt schedule...

Tentang terbang

hmmpphh... where do i start?
i receive this email at around 11.50 pm last night...

... letting me know that they have rescheduled my flight bound for Bandung on 13/12. WTH? I am supposed to arrive from PEN into KUL at 1205 and my next flight to BDO is at 1305!! i have approximately one hour to berebut-rebut turun kapal.., berebut-rebut kutip luggage.., berlari2 dan berebut2 nak bag drop naik eskalator turun eskalator nak clear immigration kastam segala.. SATU JAM!! ko ingat sempat ke dgn keadaan lcct yg keadaannya macam banjir manusia yg tak pernah surut? It is not an easy task to 'drive' your trolley in a congested area where everybody would stop suddenly and decide that its time to kiss-kiss-hug-hug people around them!! SATU JAM? *@#^^*!

bila di tanya di ask airasiamang jawapan nye mudah.., kami takkan refund duit uols tu.. pepandaila uols pegi uruskan booking yg uols dah buat melalui laman web www.airasiamang.com.. takpun silalah meninggalkan komen di ruangan feedback kami dan kami akan jawab dlm tempoh masa 5 hari.. 5 days? i need to fly in 2 days time and you're going to give me a feedback within 5 days? that is not good enough.. takpun sila lah jenguk live chat.. tp tukang taip dah tido.. kena tunggu besok pagi baru dia bangun baru bole chat..

alternatively.., please follow us on burung biru.. which i did and left a chirp on their burung biru only to find out that they only chirp within the hours of 8am-6pm. why in the world did u send me an email at 11.55pm when u are only available to talk to on certain hours of the day?

nak call nombor takde.. yg ada cuma nombor if you are calling from overseas.. kalau di malaysia silalah ke website, tinggalkan komen, tunggu tukang taip live chat bangun tido atau tunggu la burung biru berkicauan..

based on my research (research la sgt) on their fesbuk, ramai yg komplen pasal airasiamang nih.. and the trend is they only reply to good comments.. bad comments will just fall onto deaf ears.. so far kami duk fly (i think it would be less than 10 times kot) takde problem cuma on our last flight from KUL-PEN, one of our suitcases did not turn up. apparently the check-in girl did not put the tag on that particular bag. punyela bongek.. tp Alhamdulillah, they manage to track our suitcase racing with other 'lost' suitcases in kl and send it to penang on their next flight.

i panicked bcos we really need to make that flight (and i read that u can modify your booking up to 48 hrs before flight kan) so after much deliberation we decided to take the earlier flight to kl. dah pegi dekat 'urus booking anda' and dah decide utk tukar booking fill in all the necessary things gedebak gedebuk lalast sekali.. payment needed RM300.. owsh*t! i baru je convince JJ that there will be no charges involved but no refunds will be given if the new ticket cost less that what we've paid. i DID not think that it was going to cost that much. i was conned into clicking all the boxes, following their instructions and at the end of it all i was asked to pay extra.. banyak pulak tuh.. aiyo.. how?? tried to cancel but dah tak boley.. have to pay or else our bookings will be forfeited.. JJ dah bising saying i'm not giving that free money to them, when it is their fault for rescheduling our flights at the very last minute.. ayoyo kadawale.. how?

kita tunggu pagi.. JJ ajak pi airport.. --i akan cabut lari kalau dia start maki hamun org airasiamang esok.., itupun kalau dorg bleh ckp homputih la kan.. kalau tak i la yg kena activate mulut-puaka-mode nanti-- OH TIDAK..

Tentang masakan

Semalam masak kari ayam kegemaran JJ., sambil2 masak tu teringat kisah kari ayam masa di bumi kangaru dulu.. Sebelum tu sudi diingatkan bahawa aku ni bukanlah chef terhandal mcm kak LG or Dr Lurpak., i can cook for me n JJ and bonda n my anak2 menakan bila diorg dtg.. Nak memasak utk public akak xmampoo lg nyah...
So anyway, back to my story (this is also 1 of the reasons i xberani nak masak utk public). I had this frens who came to bumi kangaru looking for work tp on tourist visa (dont let me get started on how silly that was!) so anyway there comes a point when they realised that they cant work without the proper permits n what-nots and find themselves with no money to pay their accommodation any more. So i sbg good samaritan ni pun jemputla theyoll dtg tido kat umah i sementara menunggu airasiah yg bakal membawa mereka pulang ke tanahair. Lagipun umah i memang sangat dekat dengan airport.
Sebagai tuan rumah yg berwibawa, i pun masakkanlah nasik utk dorg maklomla dah lama xmerasa nasik lauk melayu kan? Nasik dgn kari ayam dgn sayor goreng cincai bancai. Since i do not know how to make kari ayam from 0 (i.e giling rempah bagai) i pakai instant paste mak nyonya je, well mana nak dpt rempah ratus segala kat sana kan. Tp i tetap gak letak onion, garlic, ginger segala sbb tak complete rasanya kari ayam kalau curah paste tu semata. So theyoll ni kata sedapla i masak mlm tu (tp tetapla nak citer that one of them is a good cook n even made nasik goreng yg disukai ramai semasa mereka menetap di youth hostel di bne kan?) Akak xkesahlah dik non, tahniahla uols pandai masak...
Lps dah makan theyoll offer nak basuh pinggan. Fair la kan, i masak uols basuhla dishes tuh. Bila diorg dah masuk tido, i masuk dapo nak tgk kot2 theyoll salah simpan sudip i ke n found out that my rubbish bin has been ransacked! Pack instant curry yg asalnya duk kat bwh sbb i dah buang kulit2 bawang, bontot brocoli rumah mushroom segala tetiba dgn magiknya duk kat atas sekali.. Aikk!! Nak kata kucen ke anjen ke yg ransack, rumah i tu no pets allowed.. ha.. Sahlah theyoll yg duk kat dapo mencuci tadila yg ransack tong sampah i. Adoyai... Kot iye pun nak find out rempah apa i guna tak boleke tanya je i? I xmalu le nak berkongsi (and admit yg i ni pakai instant paste saje). Gigih betul theyoll kan?
Lagi sekali my good intention menjamu org makan backfired ialah masa i invite a group of melayu friends dtg lunch sbb theyoll dtg dari bne pickup kwn dorg kat airport yg dkt dgn umah i tuh. Dah elok2 letak nasik semua (i lupa i masak apa aritu) si minah ni bole angkat pinggan dia yg dah ada nasik n lauk tu tinggi2 n said "wow, corelle!!, i'm impressed!!". Nak je i hempuk dia dgn sudip kayu.. Melampau tak? Plislah bersyukur aku dah jamu ko makan, perlu ke nak check tgk pinggan jenama apa aku pakai? Kalau aku tahu ko jenis yg gitu baik aku hidang pinggan melamine jer.. Nanti ko kutuk aku pakai pinggan murahan.. Choilah korang ni semua..
Oleh sebab itu i tak berapa nak konfiden kalau nak masak or entertain people to come over for makan2 (yg i masak) esp org melayu.. I've hosted other families n friends while down under (chinese, kiwi, cookie, papuan, indonesian, laotian, thai) but everything went smooth. No complaints or comments from them other than good compliments and how thankful they are for being invited. Kalau melayu (sessi mengutuk bangsa sendiri) semua serba tak kena.. Org kita ni mmg sgt judgemental kan?
